Former Bellator middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko, a Russian mixed martial artist, shared his thoughts on the establishment of the Global Fight League (GFL) in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net. This new American league is set to feature several well-known fighters, including Aleksei Oleinik, Wanderlei Silva, Tyron Woodley, Gegard Mousasi, and others.

I’ve already mentioned that a fight with Gegard Mousasi interests me. Whether it’s in this league or in RCC, it doesn’t matter, but I'd prefer RCC. But since he’s in a different league, it will be tough to reach him. I haven’t thought about this. I haven’t negotiated with GFL. I don’t know about this league. I don’t want to comment on something I’m not informed about. I haven't looked into it and don't know where they hold their fights. I've just heard some things about it. A league has been formed, and I’m glad that veteran fighters are given a chance to compete and entertain us.
It’s worth noting that GFL was created by Canadian businessman Darren Owen. He previously attempted to launch the World Fight League (WFL), but the organization didn’t hold any tournaments. Owen plans to create a roster of 300 fighters. As of now, 92 athletes have signed contracts with the league.
