Former UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo has spoken out about a possible fight against current bantamweight division champion Sean O'Malley.
Deiveson Figueiredo
Being a former champion, if they were to put me in there to fight for the title, I’m super prepared for that. I’m a former champion in the division below, where there are incredible fighters. If they give me the title (shot), I’ll accept. Sean O’Malley has excellent striking, but I trust so much in my team and our strategy. Today, I’m training with Henry Cejudo, one of the best in the division, and an intelligent guy when it comes to strategy. If I were to fight O'Malley and get to the ground, I’d finish him.
Figueiredo had a bout against Font on December 3 at UFC on ESPN 52. In that confrontation, Deiveson won by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 22 wins, three losses and one draw on his record.
