Ferguson Responds to Question About Retirement After Eighth Straight Defeat

Former interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson has spoken out about continuing his career after his eighth consecutive loss to Michael Chiesa in the UFC.

Ferguson said in an interview with the UFC:

I don't want to retire. I really don't. But I love the UFC and I don't want to go anywhere else. So, I'm not going to put both gloves down. I'm going to put one and I'm going to keep the other one just in case.

Recall, on August 3 at the UFC on ABC 7 in Abu Dhabi (UAE), Ferguson lost to Chiesa with a choke hold in the first round.

Ferguson previously stepped into the octagon in December 2023 at UFC 296, losing to Paddy Pimblett via unanimous decision. He has 25 wins and 11 losses on his record.

Chiesa last fought in July 2023 at UFC 291, losing to Kevin Holland by first-round choke. He has 17 wins and seven losses on his record.
