Former mixed martial arts fighter Javier Baez was attacked by a knife-wielding criminal. The former fighter disarmed him with his bare hands.
Baez told ABC News 10:
Once I started putting the choke in, he kind of just let [the knife] go. Because nobody’s worried about anything else but breathing when you’re losing air.
After the incident, it was reported that the fighter's attacker was Omar Marrero, 50. The reasons for the attack are unknown.
Baez, 34, had the last fight of his career in December 2018 at the XFN 22 tournament, where he lost to Diego Silva by submission in the second round. In total, Javier has five wins and two losses on his record.
