Australian UFC flyweight title challenger Steve Erceg expects that Brazilian fans may throw bottles at him after his win over Alexandre Pantoja.
MMA Fighting website quotes Erceg as saying:
Steve Erceg
To go out there and get a finish would be amazing and then yeah, I expect bottles to be thrown at me as I leave the arena, but I think that's part of the authentic Brazilian experience. I know that I wasn't on the top of everybody's mind when it came to a title shot, but the way the division was, Pantoja had already beaten all of the challengers. People are injured.
Recall, Erceg will meet Pantoja on 4 May at UFC 301 tournament.
Erceg, 28, last fought in March 2024 at UFC Fight Night 238, defeating Matt Schnell by knockout in the second round. He has 12 wins and one loss on his record.
Pantoja, 33, last stepped into the octagon in December 2023 at UFC 296, defeating Brandon Royval by unanimous decision. He has 27 wins and five losses on his record.
