UFC welterweight champion Briton Leon Edwards answered a question about a potential move to the middleweight division, where American Sean Strickland is the champion.
Any of [Strickland] or [Du Plessi] will be great to fight. I feel like that would be perfect. Me going out and becoming double champion, first ever from the UK to do it. That’s definitely one of my goals.
Recall, on January 21 at UFC 297 in Toronto, Canada, middleweight division champion Sean Strickland will fight against Dricus du Plessis.
Edwards will make his title defense against Colby Covington on December 17 at UFC 296 in Las Vegas, USA.
Edwards last fought against Kamaru Usman in March of this year at UFC 286. In that confrontation, Leon won by majority decision of the judges. He has 21 wins and three losses on his record.
Covington last entered the octagon against Jorge Masvidal in March 2022 at UFC 272. That fight went the full distance and ended in Colby's favor with a unanimous decision from the judges.He has 17 wins and three losses in his career.
