I feel like Usman is ready to go, and I'm going to open that door for him - give him the opportunity to go where he wants to go. In fact, I think he's already got one foot over that threshold, and I'm going to give him a little push.
The last fight between Edwards and Usman took place in August 2022 at UFC 278. In that confrontation, Leon won by knockout in the fifth round and won the UFC welterweight championship belt.
Edwards and Usman first met in December 2015. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended with Kamaru winning by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 20 wins and two losses under his belt. Leon has 20 wins and three losses.
