UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards has spoken out about his upcoming opponent Colby Covington, who he will face in the octagon on December 17 at UFC 296 in Las Vegas (USA).
Leon Edwards
I just ignore it. It’s a different kind of banter where I’m from and where I grew up. It just reminds me of a typical American jock. He’s like Stifler from American Pie, that kind of person. He just talks s***. I’ll go out there and it makes it easier for me to train, it makes it easier for me to go out and punch a hole in his face, and that’s it.
Edwards last fought against Kamaru Usman in March of this year at UFC 286. Leon won that fight by majority decision. He has 21 wins and three losses on his record.
Covington last entered the octagon against Jorge Masvidal in March 2022 at UFC 272. That fight went the full distance and ended in Colby's favor with a unanimous decision from the judges. He has 17 wins and three losses on his record.
