UFC middleweight title challenger Dricus Du Plessis commented on former division champion Israel Adesanya's decision to take a career break until 2027.
Dricus Du Plessis
Adesanya was active. That’s one thing we can say about Adesanya as a champion. He showed up. He didn’t shy away from fights. He fought everybody, some people twice. He was very active as a champion. Taking some time off, maybe take a year off, that would be good for him. I think he earned that.
Adesanya last stepped into the octagon against Sean Strickland in the main event of UFC 293. That fight went the full distance and ended in a unanimous decision defeat for Israel. Thus, the New Zealander once again lost the title. He has 24 wins and three losses.
