UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis from South Africa has commented on the news that light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira will corner Sean Strickland during their rematch.
The second bout between Strickland and Du Plessis is set to take place on February 9 at UFC 312 in Sydney. Their first fight, held in January 2024, resulted in a split decision victory for Dricus. Du Plessis holds a record of 22 wins and two losses, while Strickland has 29 wins and six losses.

He was in the corner in the first fight, too. I mean, they don’t even speak the same language. Strickland could barely understand his own coach, who’s also American. How is he going to understand Alex Pereira?
Pereira will meet Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313 in Las Vegas on March 9. In October 2024, Alex won by technical knockout in the fourth round against Khalil Rountree. Pereira's record includes 12 wins and two losses.
