UFC head Dana White commented on last night's middleweight title fight between American Sean Strickland and South African representative Dricus du Plessis.
At the post-fight press conference following UFC 297 White said:
I had it 2-2 going into the last round and I thought Strickland won the last round. It was one of those tight fights … But I'm also one of those guys, I believe you have to take it from the champion.
Strickland and du Plessis met in the octagon on January 21 in the main event of UFC 297, held in Toronto, Canada. In that fight, Dricus won by split decision and became the UFC middleweight champion.
Strickland's mixed martial arts record includes 28 wins and six losses. Du Plessis has 21 wins and two losses.
