UFC President Dana White reacted to the news that Sean Strickland punched a fan in the stomach ahead of his fight against Israel Adesanya at UFC 293 on the night of September 10.
Dana White clarified the situation on the press-conference:
Do you know where the news came from that he punched a fan? [From him,] yeah. He’s a beauty. He played it up more than whatever. It was jokingly, the fan and him are cool. We have people around him now so he won’t be punching people in the stomach anymore. For fun or not for fun.
Strickland's last fight was this past July at UFC on ESPN 48. Then he faced Abusupiyan Magomedov. The American won that fight by technical knockout in the second round. He has 27 wins and five losses in mixed martial arts.
