UFC president Dana White believes Brazilian UFC fighter Alex Pereira should move up to the light heavyweight division after his loss to New Zealander Israel Adesanya.
Recall that Pereira and Adesanya met on April 9 at UFC 287. In that confrontation, Alex was defeated by knockout in the second round and lost his UFC middleweight championship belt.
Dana White
What's next for Pereira? Honestly, I think he should move up to light heavyweight. He's huge for a middleweight.
The first fight between Pereira and Adesanya took place in November 2022 at UFC 281. Alex won that fight by TKO in the fifth round. He has seven wins and two losses under his belt. Israel has 24 wins and two losses under his belt.
