UFC President Dana White has allowed for the possibility that Khamzat Chimaev and Nassourdine Imavov could meet in a bout to determine the next contender for the organization’s middleweight championship.
Dana White
The fight [between Imavov and Adesanya] just happened 30 minutes ago. I don't know what we're going to do yet. There are lots of possibilities, and yes, it’s [Chimaev vs Imavov] definitely one of them.White said at a press conference following UFC Fight Night 250.
Imavov’s fight against Adesanya took place on February 1 as the main event at UFC Fight Night 250 in Riyadh, where the match was stopped in the second round with Imahov winning by technical knockout. Imavov now holds a record of 16 wins and four losses, with one fight declared a no contest.
Chimaev’s latest fight was against Robert Whittaker in October 2024 at UFC 308, with Khamzat securing a victory by submission in the first round. His record now stands at 14 wins with no losses.
