UFC president Dana White said a third fight between the promotion's middleweight champion New Zealander Israel Adesanya and Brazilian Alex Pereira is not in the organization's plans.
"I have no idea what they're talking about — Pereira will move up to light heavyweight," said White to a reporter who asked him to comment on Pereira's words about ending his trilogy with Adesanya.
Pereira and Adesanya fought a rematch this past April at UFC 287. In that fight, Alex suffered a second-round knockout loss and lost his middleweight championship belt.
The first fight between Pereira and Adesanya took place in November, 2022, at UFC 281. That fight ended in favor of Alex by TKO in the fifth round. He has seven wins and two losses under his belt. Israel has 24 wins and two losses under his belt.
