UFC President Dana White has spoken out about former UFC bantamweight champion, American mixed martial arts fighter Aljamain Sterling.
At a press conference Dana this to say about Aljamain:
When you sit down with Aljamain one-on-one, he’s a great guy. He’s a great kid, very likable, everything else. The decisions he makes in public and things he says in public do not make him the most popular guy on the roster. It’s the weirdest thing. I don’t know if it’s self-sabotage or what it is. He always seems to say the wrong things.
Sterling last fought against Sean O'Malley this past August at UFC 292. In that confrontation, Aljamain was defeated by technical knockout in the second round and lost the UFC bantamweight division championship belt.
Sterling stepped into the octagon this past May against Henry Cejudo at UFC 288. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended in favor of Aljamain by split decision of the judges. He has 23 wins and four losses in mixed martial arts.
