Dan Hooker, ranked tenth in the UFC lightweight division, took to his social media to explain why he reacted with a smile to the defeat of his friend Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298.
Recall that former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya posted a video on his YouTube channel showing the team, including Hooker, watching Volkanovski's fight against Ilia Topuria. After Alexander was knocked out, only Dan was sitting there with a smile.
Volk in my opinion is the best to ever glove up, he’s looking great and from my understanding of the game-plan had begun to establish ascendency. Then he just gets caught, disbelief and then I thought “what a dumb sport we play" and laughed at myself
