Daniel Valverde, the coach of UFC welterweight number two Colby Covington, said his client has already begun preparations for his fight against Leon Edwards.

Dana White already said yes. He called Colby the other day and said yes. I doubt that Dana or anybody else in the UFC would lie. I think the fight will happen. We've already started training camp for the fight against Leon.
Covington, 35, defeated Jorge Masvidal by unanimous decision at UFC 272 in March 2022. In November 2021, Colby lost to Kamaru Usman by unanimous decision. He has 17 wins and three losses under his belt.
Edwards, 31, fought on March 19 at UFC 286 against Kamaru Usman. Leon won that fight by majority decision. He has 21 wins and three losses under his belt.
