Former interim UFC welterweight champion Colby Covington responded to comments made by Chael Sonnen, who previously spoke about Covington's fight against Joaquin Buckley.
Recall that Sonnen, who was in Covington's corner, stated that he would have thrown in the towel if the doctor had not stopped the fight due to a cut.
Colby Covington
Chael cares about me – he’s a real one. If he was throwing it in, it’s because he knows I couldn’t see. He knows that where the cut was at, it was bleeding into my right eye and I couldn’t see. I was seeing three or four different people.
Recall that on December 15, in the main event of UFC on ESPN 63, Covington lost to Joaquin Buckley by technical knockout in the third round. His record stands at 17 wins and five losses.
