Brazilian fighter Paulo Costa spoke about the cancellation of the fight against the former champion of the promotion in the middleweight category Australian Robert Whittaker.
Recall that Costa and Whittaker were scheduled to meet on February 12 at UFC 284 in Perth, Australia.
Paulo Costa
A lot of the big fights didn't happen because of poor negotiating skills. They need to stop picking on the little things. They don't understand things the way fighters do, that's why this is happening. It looks stupid, but I'm not the only one who's been in this situation. It happened to Francis Ngannou, Sean O'Malley, Mark Hunt and many others.
Costa last competed against American Luke Rockhold at UFC 278 in August of this year. The fight lasted the whole distance and ended in favor of Paulo by unanimous decision.
Costa had his UFC debut against Garrett McLellan in March 2017. Paulo won that fight by TKO in the first round. He has 14 wins and two losses under his belt. Whittaker has 24 wins and six losses.
