Former UFC double champion Daniel Cormier has spoken out about the promotion's current light heavyweight division champion Alex Pereira.
Cormier stated on ESPN:
How's he doing this when, with all due respect because Alex and I have a great relationship, he can't wrestle. He does not know how to wrestle. But he has got this singular skillset that is so good that it does not matter what he can't do. He's so good at what he does that he's now the best in the world.
Pereira last fought against Jamahal Hill on April 14 at UFC 300. Alex won that fight, which was stopped in the first round by knockout. He has 10 wins and two losses on his record.
Cormier last stepped into the octagon against Stipe Miocic in August 2020 at UFC 252. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended with Daniel losing by unanimous decision. He has 22 wins and three losses on his record, with one fight declared a no contest.
