Former UFC double champion Daniel Cormier in an exclusive interview with Telecomasia.net commented on the information that the IOC did not allow Russian wrestlers to participate in the Olympic Games.
Daniel Cormier exclusively for Telecom Asia Sport
It's hard to properly evaluate the Olympics without Russian wrestlers. A lot of the best wrestlers on the planet are from Russia. I spoke to Zaurbek Sidakov today. He said he was not allowed to compete. That's not good. A lot of the best guys won't be competing in the Olympics. It takes away the opportunity for a lot of athletes to become Olympic champions.
Earlier, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) admitted only four Russian freestyle wrestlers. They were Nachyn Mongush, Shamil Mamedov, Arslan Bagaev and Abdulla Kurbanov.
