Former UFC double champion Daniel Cormier criticized Alex Pereira's careless attitude towards preparing for his fight against Magomed Ankalaev.
Daniel Cormier on his YouTube channel
Ankalaev’s already [in Las Vegas. [Pereira] was in Australia last week, shaking the hand of Drake as he went on stage for his concert. What is Pereira still doing in Australia? He fights in two weeks! And where’s Glover [Teixeira]? Is Glover just in Australia with him? Is it just him and Plinio [Cruz]? Glover’s the guy, honestly, that should be doing the most work with Alex right now because of [Ankalaev’s] wrestling. Pereira better get home, he needs to get home and lock in, because he has the hardest fight of his title reign.
Remember, the title fight for the light heavyweight championship between Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira will headline UFC 313, which is set for March 9 in Las Vegas, USA.
Ankalaev last fought in the octagon in October 2024 at UFC 308, winning a unanimous decision against Aleksandar Rakic. He has a record of 19 wins, one loss, and one draw, with one fight classified as a no contest.
Pereira’s last fight was in October 2024 at UFC 307, where he won against Khalil Rountree by technical knockout in the fourth round. He currently has 12 wins and two losses.
