Former UFC double champion Daniel Cormier commented on the news that heavyweight champion Jon Jones suffered a chest injury during a simple wrestling situation.
Cormier published his reaction on his YouTube channel:
Things like that happen in training, it happens constantly. The only problem is that we were so looking forward to that fight between him and Stipe. I saw the video and that looks like a very common wrestling situation. I've been in that situation a thousand times. I have never seen someone almost tear their pec in a pretty base wrestling situation. Apparently his body is not ready for that kind of workload.
Jones will be unable to fight Stipe Miocic due to injury, which was scheduled to take place on November 12 in the main event of UFC 295 in New York City.
Jones last fought Ciryl Gane in March of this year at UFC 285. In that confrontation, Jones won by first-round choking submission and won the heavyweight championship belt. He has 27 wins and one loss on his record.
