Former UFC welterweight title contender Colby Covington commented on his loss to fellow American Joaquin Buckley.
Colby Covington on his YouTube channel
We’re gonna be back stronger than ever, this is just the beginning for me. I wasn’t at my best tonight, I came off the couch but it was for the company, I did this for the company that I love so much that changed my life. I was just getting warmed up in that fight, I think it was tied up 1-1 and I was starting to wear on him. I see him breathing out of his mouth, I was starting to catch him with more shots so it’s unfortunate that they stopped it.
The fight between Buckley and Covington took place on December 15 at UFC on ESPN 63 in Tampa, Florida. In a bout that was stopped in the third round, Buckley won by technical knockout. Buckley has a mixed martial arts record of 21 wins and six losses, while Covington has 17 wins and five losses.
