Swedish UFC fighter of Chechen origin Khamzat Chimaev announced in his social media account that he wants to fight Colby Covington of the United States in his next fight.
Chimaev faced Kevin Holland of the United States at UFC 279, held on the night of September 11 in Las Vegas. The fight was stopped in the first round and ended in favor of Khamzat by submission.
In April of this year, Chimaev appeared in the octagon against Gilbert Burns of Brazil at the UFC 273 tournament. That fight ended in favor of Khamzat by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 12 wins and no losses under his belt.
Covington last appeared in the octagon against his compatriot Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272 in March of this year. That fight ended in Colby's favor by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 17 wins and three losses under his belt.
