Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker will fight South African fighter Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 290 on July 8 in Las Vegas, USA.
According to the authoritative MMA Fighting portal, it will be a contender's bout. The winner will become Israel Adesanya's next opponent.
Whittaker, 32, faced Marvin Vettori in his most recent fight at UFC Fight Night 209 in September 2022. The fight went the full three rounds and Robert won by unanimous decision. He has 24 wins and six losses under his belt.
Du Plessis, 29, had his latest fight against Derek Brunson at UFC 285 in March of this year. Dricus won that fight by TKO in the second round. He has 19 wins and two losses under his belt.
