Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen said that the biggest fee in his professional career was for the rematch with Brazilian fighter Anderson Silva.
That fight took place in July of 2012 at the UFC 148 tournament. In that fight Sonnen was defeated by TKO in the second round.

The biggest payday of my career was $8.8 million for one night. I took $8.8 million for my second fight with Anderson Silva. That was in 2012, and I'll tell you, the numbers are bigger than a lot of people think.
Sonnen had his last mixed martial arts fight against Brazilian Lyoto Machida in June 2019 at Bellator 222. That fight, which was stopped in the second round, ended in Chael's defeat by technical knockout. He has 31 wins, 17 losses and one draw under his belt.
