Former UFC two-division champion Henry Cejudo talks about what he expects from a potential fight between former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev.
Henry Cejudo for Helen Yee Sports
I like this fight. You have to give Chimaev credit for taking on this challenge because I don't think he's going to win. Whittaker is no joke. I think he can rise to the occasion, Robert is bigger and good in the standup. If Whittaker can make the fight happen in the standup, Khamzat will be in trouble. If I were Chimaev, I would insist on a three-round fight to improve my chances, but if it's five rounds... Well, good luck.
Chimaev and Whittaker have previously verbally agreed to fight each other.
Whittaker, 32, last fought at UFC Fight Night 2022 in September, defeating Italy's Marvin Vettori by unanimous decision. He has a record of 24 wins and six losses.
Chimaev, 28, fought Kevin Holland at UFC Fight Night 279 in September 2022. The fight ended with Chimaev winning by first-round choke. He has 12 wins and no losses in mixed martial arts.
