Former UFC champion in two weight categories Henry Cejudo spoke out about a potential rematch between Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland.
As a reminder, Strickland defeated Adesanya by unanimous decision on September 10 at UFC 293 in Sydney, Australia, to become the new middleweight division champion.
After losing four rounds to one, does he deserve a rematch now? No. One hundred percent no. Daniel Cormier doesn't believe it, Chael Sonnen doesn't believe it, the rest of the whole damn world doesn't believe it. Will he get it? One hundred percent. When you're Dana White's boy, when you're his cash cow, and when you've done special things like Israel... Dana White will give you that opportunity. If I'm in Israel's shoes, now is time to take a break. Now is the time for me to let this division kind of move on.
Adesanya, 34, had his previous fight in April 2023 at UFC 287, defeating Alex Pereira by knockout in the second round. He has 24 wins and three losses on his record.
Strickland, 32, previously stepped into the octagon in July 2023 at UFC on ESPN 48, defeating Abusupiyan Magomedov by TKO in the second round. He has 28 wins and five losses on his record.
