Former UFC welterweight title challenger Brazilian Gilbert Burns plans to return to the strongest league in the spring of 2024.
Journalist Brett Okamoto wrote on social media:
Gilbert Burns tells me he's been cleared to resume training 100 percent for the first time since his shoulder injury in May against Belal Muhammad. He expects to return to the cage in March or April 2024.
Burns, 37, last stepped into the octagon for a fight against Belal Muhammad in May 2023 at UFC 288. This confrontation lasted the entire distance and ended with Gilbert losing by unanimous decision of the judges. He has 22 wins and six losses on his record.
