No. 6 ranked UFC welterweight, Brazilian fighter Gilbert Burns has not ruled out that he may soon end his professional career.
Burns told Grind City Media:
I'm getting freaking old. 10 years in the UFC has been very good, but I don't know how much longer. I still got a couple fights left in me, so I'm not here for a long time. I still think I have a couple of good fights left - not a lot.
Recall that Burns will fight American Sean Brady in the main event of UFC Fight Night 242 on September 7.
Burns last entered the octagon in March 2024 at UFC 299, losing to Jack Della Maddalena by knockout in the third round. He has 22 wins and seven losses on his record.
Brady last fought against Kelvin Gastelum in December 2023 at UFC on ESPN 52. That fight, which was stopped in the third round, ended in favor of Sean by painful submission. He has 16 wins and one loss under his belt.
