Brazilian MMA fighter Eliel dos Santos was arrested by police shortly after his match at the Shooto Brazil 12 tournament, which took place on December 13 in Rio de Janeiro, according to G1.
It was revealed that dos Santos had been convicted of domestic violence. After being released, he broke his electronic ankle monitor and assaulted his victim again, injuring his partner and a man who attempted to intervene. An arrest warrant was issued for Eliel, who tried to avoid capture by dyeing his hair, but ultimately showed up at the MMA tournament where the police were waiting for him.
During the Shooto Brazil 12 tournament, dos Santos faced Cleverton Silva. The fight, which was stopped in the first round, ended in a knockout loss for Eliel. His mixed martial arts record now stands at 20 wins and 19 losses.
