The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) has announced the acquisition of a stake in Ice Wars, an organization that hosts ice fights. The first BKFC Ice Wars event will take place on June 14 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, USA.
Fights will take place on an ice arena measuring 84 square meters. Fighters will be equipped with hockey gear and four-ounce MMA gloves.
Each bout will last between three to five rounds, with each round lasting 90 seconds, with one-minute breaks in between. Two referees and three judges will oversee the fights, evaluating the bouts in their entirety rather than round by round if the fight goes the distance.
BKFC representatives stated that the organization plans to hold six Ice Wars tournaments in 2025, increasing to 24 tournaments by 2026.
The league will feature four weight classes: heavyweight, super heavyweight, middleweight, and lightweight.
