Current Bellator champion in the featherweight division, Brazilian mixed martial artist Patricio Freire, has joined criticism from other fighters regarding the league's merger with PFL.

Bellator used to be BIG. They never just canceled a show and said they had no idea when we would be booked. Even regional promotions have dates set for April of next year already! This merger has been a disaster to the sport of MMA.
Freire last competed against Jeremy Kennedy in March this year at the Bellator Champions Series. In that fight, which was stopped in the third round, Patricio won by technical knockout. He holds a record of 36 wins and seven losses in mixed martial arts.
