UFC CEO Dana White responded to a question about whether interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall will be a backup fighter for the fight between current division champion Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic, who are scheduled to meet in the fall.
Dana White
100% – We’d be insane not to make him the backup for that fight.
Recall, on July 28 in Manchester in the co-main event of UFC 304, Aspinall defeated Curtis Blaydes by technical knockout in the first round.
Aspinall has 15 wins and three losses on his record. Blaydes has 18 wins and five losses on his record, with one of his fights being ruled a no contest.
