UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall has reacted to current division champion Jon Jones, who previously advised him not to dwell on the unification fight, but to continue to grow his career.
Tom Aspinall
I absolutely agree. I've shown nothing but respect for Jon Jones. I respect what he has done in the sport. It's incredible. I appreciate the advice. I won't let you hold me back. Like I said, it doesn't matter what everyone else is doing. This is my journey. This is my path. A lot of people online saying, 'Hey, Tom. You need to stop crying,' and I thought, 'You know what? They're right.' I need to stop crying about it, move forward, and get on with my career, and prove that I'm the best.
Aspinall, 30, last stepped into the octagon against Sergei Pavlovich in November 2023 at UFC 295. Tom won that fight by first-round knockout and captured the UFC interim heavyweight title. He has 14 wins and three losses on his record.
