UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall said he sees no other opponent options other than former champion Stipe Miocic.
Aspinall quotes Mac Life as saying:
Stipe was ready to go two weeks ago when he was supposed to fight Jon Jones, who else am I gonna fight at this point? Jon Jones is injured, what else is knocking around at the moment that makes sense? Ciryl [Gane] and [Jailton] Almeida should fight. I stick with that. I’ll fight the winner, but I believe they’re both good fighters, obviously, but I think I’m more interested in Stipe right now.
Recall, on November 12 at UFC 295 Aspinall knocked out Sergei Pavlovich in the first round and became the promotion's interim heavyweight champion.
Aspinall, 30, previously stepped into the octagon in July 2023 at UFC Fight Night 224, defeating Marcin Tybura by first-round TKO. He has 14 wins and three losses on his record.
