Top UFC light heavyweight fighter, Russian Magomed Ankalaev published a post on social media in which he addressed the division's champion, Brazilian Alex Pereira.

Pereira last stepped into the octagon in June 2024 at UFC 303, defeating Jiri Prochazka by TKO in the second round. He has 11 wins and two losses on his record.
Ankalaev last fought against Johnnie Walker in January 2024 at UFC Fight Night 234. This fight, which was stopped in the first round, ended in Magomed's favor with a knockout. He has 18 wins, one loss and one draw on his record. One fight was ruled a no contest.
