Russian UFC middleweight fighter Ikram Aliskerov has commented on his defeat to Australian Robert Whittaker at UFC on ABC 6. The Russian lost by knockout in the first round on the night of 23 June in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Aliskerov told reporters:
I understood everything, I saw everything. It wasn't like I was completely lost. Now I watched the replay - the referee knows better, he did the right thing to stop the fight. He's worried about the fighter's health. It's not pleasant. I'm not used to losing lately. I’ll deal with it as a man.
Aliskerov, 31, had his previous fight in October 2023 at UFC 294, defeating Warlley Alves by technical knockout in the first round. He has 15 wins and two losses on his record.
Whittaker, 33, previously stepped into the octagon in February 2024 at UFC 298, defeating Paulo Costa by unanimous decision. He has 26 wins and seven losses on his record.
