Alex Pereira: Maybe Without Adesanya, I Wouldn’t Be Where I Am Today

UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira spoke about his former opponent, ex-middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, who is set to fight Nassourdine Imavov on February 1 at UFC Fight Night 250.

Alex Pereira
Maybe without him, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I wouldn’t have got into the UFC with the good contract that I did due to the history we have. So I wish him the best.

Recall that Pereira has defeated Adesanya twice in kickboxing tournaments. In November 2022 at UFC 281, Alex won by technical knockout in the fifth round, becoming the middleweight champion of the organization. In April 2023 at UFC 287, the two fought again, with Adesanya winning by knockout in the second round.

Pereira's record stands at 12 wins and two losses, while Adesanya holds 24 wins and four losses.
