Former UFC bantamweight champion and Hall of Famer Jose Aldo has revealed that he was in talks for boxing fights against Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
MMA Fighting quotes Aldo as saying:
We were really close to facing Floyd [Mayweather], he also agreed to fight in Saudi Arabia, but I don’t know why it didn’t happen. But we’ve also been in talks for a long time to face Manny Pacquiao. I would be really happy [to face him] for the passion I have for boxing and the passion I have for him, watching him box.
Mayweather, 46, last fought in the professional ring against former UFC double champion Conor McGregor in August 2017. In this confrontation, Floyd won by technical knockout in the tenth round. He has 50 victories (27 by knockout) without a single defeat.
The 45-year-old Pacquiao last entered the ring against blogger DK Yoo in December 2022. The fight was an exhibition fight. In this confrontation Pacquiao won by unanimous decision. He has 62 wins (39 by knockout), eight losses and two draws in his professional boxing career.
