UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya recounted the story of how he had a fight at a Burger King restaurant in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2010.
Israel Adesanya for The MMA Hour
2010, I had a fight. It was me vs. four dudes in Burger King on Queen Street in Auckland. He was harassing my friend’s girlfriend and I just turned around, and I handled him and his friends. They put me in cuffs, right? Never throw a kick in a street fight, cause then I slipped, and I got up and I f***ed the other dude up.
Adesanya, 33, last stepped into the Octagon against Brazilian Alex Pereira in April of this year at UFC 287. In that fight, Israel won by knockout in the second round. In November 2022, in the main event of UFC 281, Adesanya lost by TKO in the fifth round to Pereira and lost the UFC middleweight title. He has 24 wins and two losses under his belt.
Israel's next opponent will be determined in a bout between Robert Whittaker and Dricus du Plessis, which will take place July 9 at UFC 290.
