Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya said that he intends to return to the octagon and continue his professional career only in 2027.
Recall, earlier Adesanya said that he wants to take a break from fighting to recover mentally.
Adesanya said on TheMacLife YouTube channel:
I was getting so many messages. I woke up and was getting tagged in so many things. I’m not dead. I’m not retiring. I mean calm the f—k down. I’m alive. 2027. Look for the return. I’ll see you then.
Adesanya last stepped into the octagon against Sean Strickland in the main event of UFC 293. That fight lasted the entire distance and ended in a unanimous decision defeat for Israel. Thus, the New Zealander once again lost the title. He has 24 wins and three losses.
