Former UFC middleweight division champion Israel Adesanya commented on his defeat to Sean Strickland at UFC 293, which took place on September 10 in Sydney, Australia.
Recall, Adesanya lost by unanimous decision of judges and lost the belt of the UFC middleweight champion.
Adesanya said:
I had a different plan for this but again life throws curveballs at you. Win or lose, I wasn’t going to say much anyway but right now, I lost tonight to the better man on the night. I just want to go and be with people who care about me — my team and they’re waiting for me so I’m going to do that. I want to go chill, have some breakfast, build my family and till next time.
Adesanya, 34, had his previous fight in April 2023 at UFC 287, defeating Alex Pereira by knockout in the second round. He has 24 wins and three losses on his record.
Strickland, 32, previously stepped into the octagon in July 2023 at UFC on ESPN 48, defeating Abusupiyan Magomedov by TKO in the second round. He has 28 wins and five losses on his record.
