Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya was arrested on the afternoon of November 16 at the John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City for illegal possession of a weapon. It was reported by TMZ.
According to the agency, the New Zealand mixed martial artist was carrying knuckles.
Adesanya had his last fight against Brazilian Alex Pereira on November 13 at UFC 281. In that fight, Israel was defeated by TKO in the fifth round.
Adesanya made his MMA debut against compatriot James Griffiths in March 2012. That fight ended in favor of Israel by TKO in the first round.
