The final and fifth test between India and England has been “postponed” as the nagging coronavirus keeps on hampering the sports world. The virus hit the India camp as their coaches Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun, and R Sridhar tested positive. Then the physio Nitin Patel also tested positive and then the team also found that one more person from their staff tested positive. The Indian team returned a negative test but they felt skeptical about playing considering the situation.
India is two-one up in the series but the focus has now shifted to the politics of the two boards, the ECB and BCCI. The ECB wants the series to be forfeited now because of the financial losses they are going to suffer as India refused to take the field. The situation has also become trickier because of the upcoming India-based tournament Indian Premier League(IPL) which is set to begin on 19th September.
