Katie logged a total of 137 points and came through in scratch, tempo, and elimination races. She seized the deal with a steady performance during the climactic points race. Lotte Kopecky from Belgium finished second while Italy’s Elisa Balsamo seized the third spot.

I turned up pretty nervous. I saw the other riders in the scratch race and the elimination and thought 'gee, they look fast'. Especially with the qualifiers, it was like a nice warm-up for the event, and when you have the first event go well like I did with the scratch race, it gives you more confidence to race aggressively as you go through the day.
