Ireland women overcame Netherlands in the World T20 European Qualifiers clash in Cartagena as Netherlands could only make 89 while chasing 112. Ireland finished the tournament with three wins in four matches while Netherlands claimed two wins in the tournament. Only Scotland qualified to the Global Qualifiers as they topped the table winning all of the games.
For Ireland, batting-wise the standout performance came from Eimear Richardson who put up 53 runs in 49 balls. Apart from her, Gaby Lewis made 32 runs as rest of the batters scored single digit runs. The only major partnership came from Lewis and Richardson who added 60 runs for the fourth wicket driving Ireland’s batting. Netherlands received a major contribution from Robine Rijke who made 32 runs in 36 balls. Among the bowlers, Eva Lynch claimed four wickets for Netherlands while Cara Murray and Laura Delany both ended up with three wickets each for Ireland.
