Ramiz Raja, the PCB chairman has requested support from Pakistan cricket fans after the New Zealand-Pakistan ODI series got abruptly called off by the NZC. The issue emerged a few minutes before the start of the first ODI when the New Zealand cricket board withdrew after what they claimed to be a “credible security threat”. The cancellation of the series left PCB and the authorities in tatters as they prepared one of the biggest security covers ever in the history of cricket.
This is what Ramiz Raja said: “So I urge our fans to stand behind the Pakistan team and be its strength at the [T20] World Cup. To my team, I would like to say take out your frustrations on the field because that is the only remedy. When you become the world's best team then everyone is queuing up in line to play series in your country. So I want everyone to take this as a lesson and move on and not be disappointed.”
